A new league campaign at 11v11 started away at Harpenden Thunder.
Having beaten them in a friendly last week the girls went in with confidence.
Alana started in goal with Bella, Diya, Poppy and Taylor in defence behind a midfield three of Alice, Isabelle and Sophia. Alexia, Lexi and Scarlett were the front three with Lucy, Ruby and Zara on the bench.
A disastrous start losing possession from the kick off and conceding in the first minute. Things got worse when following the next kick off Scarlett chased the ball looking to equalise but pulled up with a muscle injury and could take no further part in the match.
Lucy came on at centre forward and looked to be positive coming close to equalising.
On 25 minutes Alice played the ball to the left wing to Lexi who had a look up to see where the keeper was before shooting over her to make it 1-1.
Much of the play was in the Harpenden half but too many stray passes meant a lack of shots to test the keeper.
It was 2-1 to our hosts on 32 minutes when a corner made its way in at the near post.
The second half showed glimpses of good football but once again stringing passes together consistently was an issue.
The girls pushed forward but shots were limited and on 58 minutes a pitch length breakaway move extended Harpenden’s lead to 3-1.
Pressure from Harvesters for the last 10 minutes saw much of the play in the final third but the girls were unable to get a goal.
