Battling performance

Harvesters U15 Girls were up against Tottenham Hotspur in division one action.

The girls started brilliantly and took control of the game surprising their hosts. The first 15 minutes was mainly played in the Tottenham half with much of the play on the right with Mia running at them and linking up with Hollie.

Unfortunately despite the possession and territory the chances didn’t come, although Rheilly hit the far post from an in swinging corner. Then on 15 minutes Tottenham won the ball on the half way line and a good run followed by a shot put them 1-0 up. On 20 minutes the ball made its way to an unmarked player who made it 2-0.

Two minutes before half time it was 3-0 with a goal from a cross/shot.

The second half started badly with a goal from an unmarked player and five minutes later it was 5-0 when a corner was headed in. Another cross/shot was scored on 52 minutes and four minutes later a run and shot made it 7-0.

The call from the Tottenham coaches was for a clean sheet but sheer determination and pressing from the girls up front saw the ball fall to Eliza on 66 minutes who beat a defender before taking the ball around the keeper to score to make it 7-1 and no clean sheet.

The girls could sense further chances but were caught on the break on 70 minutes. Two further goals in the last two minutes saw the match finish at 10-1 but that seemed harsh.

Credit to the girls for the massive effort given.
