A Bury Good Game

Our return trip to Bury after our pre Christmas Friendly! What a good game it turned out to be. Harvesters had some idea of what to expect but were surprised by a vastly improved Bury team. The whistle blew and Bury were right in our goal end and were up after just a couple of minutes with a great side foot goal. This woke our girls up and Olivia (El-Cazo) Caswell, took possession, dropped her right shoulder and was off! One minuet and four opponents later came the classic right foot to the corner. With the scores level, both teams settled. Eva then took the right wing, raced the full length and fired a left foot powerhouse only to be denied by inches. Eva would later go on to go in goal and pull off several fantastic saves. At this point India came on and immediately made her presence felt with a lovely tap in.

Bury began to press back and the game opened up. We then had our new player Eda come on to take charge of midfield, she takes the ball, looks up, dribbles, shoots and a rocket of a goal in her début game. Bury didn't sit back, they came at us again and it was only through some brilliant tackles and blocks by our other new girl Amelia that kept our goal area safe. This was the way the game continued and there were some lovely passing combinations through midfield by both teams. The cohesion at this point was great to watch and meant that more goals were to follow. Milly was first up with one of her awesome runs and clinical finishes. Milly and Olivia then became the play makers and set both Hope and Anna to grab a goal each. Anna's goal was another one to mention she looked up, pulled the trigger and that was it, straight to the corner. Hopes was a fine first touch straight through the defence and keeper.

Bury's strikers were also busy and in the last quarter also found our net more than once. A great game of sportsmanship and skill from both teams and a pleasure to watch. Well done all!
