Harvesters Raid at Raiders

Another wet Saturday but this time with sunny spells of football.
The pitch inspection was completed and it was confirmed the match could go ahead. Much to the relief of the girls who were determined to play no matter what. Both teams started well and the first quarter was a close game with only a goal separating the teams at the break. Our defence were superb and the girls held they're positions throughout, although India was called on to produce her acrobatics in goal several times.
As usual Olivia was straight on the score sheet and this was a taste of what was to come. Milly again was superb in Midfield, My player of the match to Millly purely just for effort and work rate. Charlotte soon took control of the defence and showed a great understanding on when to push up or track back. Hope and Eva created some lovely passing moves in midfield that led to several of the goals. Anna, just like Millly is natural in midfield, some of the outer foot one touch passes were brilliant. I saw her practice this in training and it certainly paid off in opening up the centre of the pitch.
Half time and Eva volunteered for goal and what a shot stopper, not one went past her, what a dilemma for a coach between her and India in goal! A mention to Hope and Olivia here for that terrific run by Hope from defence to set Olivia up for a clinical finish. Berkhamsted had some great players on the pitch and a massive well done to them for the passing and strong defensive line.
Once again to all the girls, well done for playing some lovely passing football and playing out from the back
