Wet Wet Wet

What a day to play football, Could not have been prouder of the girls for soldiering through and keeping their spirits up.

We were straight off the blocks with Olivia netting in the first few minutes, Bedwell responded in kind and at half time it was neck and neck. The rain got heavier and we started the second half. There were tackles, slips and of course water. Charlotte and Anna were powerhouses in midfield with Eva, Millly and Olivia threatening the opposition goal, which paid off again for Olivia again, is there anything that can stop her from scoring?. Hope then took up the green jersey to allow India to show her dribbling skills once again. Hope made a couple of nice saves and got her drop kick down to perfection.

Of course by this time we had gained a swimming pool in the oppositions goal and the water build up was not in our favour. I counted 3 or 4 definite goals that were stopped by the water right on or near the line. For certain, India , Eva, Charlotte and Milly would all have got on the score sheet. Eva was a true trooper in midfield at this point and even after going off with an injury was desperate to come back on. I'm sure all who were there today would agree it was a thrilling game and a true battle against the elements. A final quick well done to Anna and Milly for their passing and position holding.
