Harvesters U16 South beat Omonia Green 4-0

After a week off due to the weather the boys were back in league action at home to Omonia Green looking to complete the double over them.

The early stages were fairly even with few chances but on 17 minutes Stanley Maisey played a perfect cross field ball to TJ Barton who took the ball in his stride and struck it to the side of the keeper to make it 1-0. The boys took control and on 24 minutes Joseph Curran had the ball wide out on the right wing and he hit the ball sweetly over the keeper to make it 2-0.

Ryan Mason made some crucial saves to keep Omonia from scoring as they were quick on the counter attack. Harvesters continued to press and on 32 minutes Louis Di Carlo had the ball in the Omonia penalty area and laid the ball back to Stanley Maisey to hit the ball home and make it 3-0 at the half time interval.

The second half started well and Harvesters were on top and seven minutes in Stanley Maisey burst into the penalty area and hit a shot with a slight deflection beyond the keeper to make it 4-0.

The boys kept things tight for the rest of the match and the defence were solid keeping out any threat.
