Harvesters U16 South were in league action again the final match before the Christmas break. Flying high at the top of the table it was a case of more of the same please.
Despite having the majority possession it took until the 26th minute to open the scoring when a flick from Harry Ruane was met by Nathan Thornton bursting into the penalty area from left back to score his first of the season.
Five minutes later Harry Ruane followed in on a shot spilled by the Borehamwood keeper and was brought down to earn a penalty. Harry Ruane dusted himself off to score to make it 2-0.
Harvesters hit the woodwork twice early in the second half before adding a third goal when Connor Blight laid the ball off to TJ Barton who spun on the edge of the penalty area and placed the ball beyond the keeper in the 57th minute.
A defensive error gifted Borehamwood a well taken goal on 60 minutes.
Harvesters had more chances in the final 20 minutes but were unable to add further goals and the match finished 3-1. The boys remain top of the league at the mid-season break.
