Harvesters U16 South were away in league action against Omonia Green. The boys knew that this would be one of the tougher trips of the season. Omonia started well and had hit the woodwork twice in the first five minutes.
Harvesters then took control and started to dominate the midfield and on 11 minutes what looked like a through ball from Fazan Uddin beat the keep and trickled over the line to put Harvesters 1-0 up. It stayed that way until half time although Harvesters had the best of possession.
On 48 minutes it was 2-0 when Lucas King dribbled the ball and found TJ Barton to score. Lucas King could have had a penalty when he was taken down but the referee was giving nothing. In the 67th minute a well struck pass by Sam Mistry found Lucas King who made it 3-0.
Three minutes later Stanley Maisey played the ball down the right wing. The Omonia defender assumed it was going out for a goal kick but he didn’t factor in the pace of Connor Blight who reached the ball and put in a great cross for Harry Ruane to make it 4-0.
Controversy came late on when the referee needed goal line technology as he awarded an Omonia goal from a corner when it looked like he was the only person on the pitch who thought it had gone in.
All in all a clinical performance from the whole squad.
