Harvesters U16 South continued their fine early season form in the league against Northwood White. The boys took control early on and in the sixth minute after some head tennis in the Northwood penalty area Joe Curran powered a header home to make it 1-0.
Despite dominating the rest of the first half and having chances to extend the lead the boys went in at half time 1-0 up. Northwood came out stronger in the second half and after five minutes had levelled when Harvesters failed to clear the ball.
Conceding didn’t get to the boys and they continued to push forward and in the 49th minute Joe Curran floated a cross over for Sam Mistry to slot the ball beyond the keeper. However from the restart Harvesters gave the ball away and Northwood equalised again.
Harvesters continued to have the lion share of possession but had to wait until the 74th minute when a shot from Harry Ruane was parried by the keeper and Sam Mistry was there to tap in to make it 3-2.
A minute later it was 4-2 when a perfectly weighted lay off by Harry Ruane to Stan Maisey was hit beyond the diving keeper from outside the area.
Northwood were down to 10 men in the closing minutes and the boys closed out the win.
