Leopards vs Woody's Wanderers

On the 1st day of Spring, the Leopards played for the first time Woody’s Wanderers on Pitch 1. For the second week running the Leopards were missing a key player, with George Small absent due to sickness. The boys started strongly with some sharp passing at times from back to front. The Leopards first goal didn’t take long to come with Milo Hegarty playing as CF passing to Jonah Howgego on the right wing. Jonah using his strength held off the defenders before sending a powerful shot pass the goal keeper.
You could see that the Leopards were enjoying themselves and the second goal soon followed. Michael Bird was in good form and found Harris Young from his left wing position. Harris playing in centre midfield found the back of the net from a first time deflected shot from outside the box. He gave a little fist pump to show his joy. The last goal of the first half came from Jack Horne. Jack had said prior to the game starting that he would get a goal and duly delivered. Once again it was from a nice piece of passing play, with the final assist coming from Milo who perfectly set up the on running Jack to score from just inside the box. At the back, Daniel Austin and Samuel O’Hare were in control, and were starting attacks from nice passes out from defence and where required, switch play to keep possession.
The second half was a repeat of the first in terms of performance from the Leopards, with some great passing movements and control of possession. The 4th Leopards goal came once again from the boot of Jonah. Harris collected the ball from Daniel Mckinstry on the edge of his own goal area, before travelling up the pitch and playing a nicely weighted pass to Jonah on the left side. Jonah took the pass in his stride, before cutting in from the left and sending a beautiful shot inside the post on his right foot. The keeper was rooted to spot and could only watch the ball go into the back of the net.
The final goal came after Milo, who was captain for the game who had worked tirelessly for the team up front, put a pass in from the right and Sam finished off a nice move.
Well done to the boys
