A 9:30 kick off made conditions feel more like a Disney film rather than a football match. The Leopards took a while to come to life in the frozen conditions against London Colney Colts, and when they did so it was like watching Elsa break into song. The Leopards first chance fell to George Small when his shot just went over the bar. Jonah Howgego and George Small were patrolling the midfield area with Michael Bird sweeping up behind them. On a number of occasions both Daniel Austin and Jack Horne made timely tackles before playing the ball forward. George scored a brace with his first goal being an Oscar nomination. Sameul O'hare playing centre forward had the ball on the left hand side of the box, head up, he picked out George who scored a wonderful goal at the near post after getting in front of the defender. Unfortunately for the boys who were substitutes the conditions were not pleasant and it felt like an eternal winter on the sidelines. Apart from a 10 minute period in the 2nd half, the Leopards battled hard during the game with some being fearless in their tackles. George’s second goal came after he won the ball Dele Alli style and scored from the edge of the box past a good keeper. Genuine credit must be given to the Leopards who not only never gave up, but starting with Daniel McKinstry in goal, played out from the back every single time despite the high pressing of the opponents.
