Whetstone Wanderers Tigers vs Leopards

On a pitch that was far from level, it was ironic that is was a great leveler between two teams of contrasting styles. The game between Whetstone Wanderers Lions and the Leopards was tight and one of few chances for both sides. The first half was full of endeavor and spirit by the Leopards but they could not take their chances. The first opportunity came from the left hand side after Jack played the ball down the wing to Sam who then played a beautiful through ball to Jonah but could not get his shot away. MOTM George was putting in the challenges across the park as he led by example and nearly got his rewards but his volley from outside the box his the post and bounced out. This episode of play was applauded by both sets of fans. As the half drew to a close the two Dans and Michael kept things tight at the back.
The second half continued in the same way as the 1st with the Leopards playing all of the football. Each boy doing there bit and get stuck in. The only goal for the Leopards came with 12 minutes to go from a flowing footballing move. Michael in the left back position played a nice diagonal ball to Jonah in the middle who took one touch before passing to Jack on the right wing who slotted the ball in to the bottom left hand corner. Milo, Sam and captain for the day Harris also played their part in another good Leopards performance.
