HGS Academy U9s vs Harvesters Leopards U9s

The University of Middlesex was the venue for the Leopards tussle with HGS Academy on a crisp Hendon morning - but the Yellows were asleep at the back of the class as they started slowly during a scrappy opening. Gradually the chaps began to get their passing going, Marcel Lukasik striding out from the back, Arthur Pitts neat and tidy in midfield and twinkle toes Ahaan Dean working good positions down the left.

Although the Leopards were circling they lacked the killer strike until....THUMP - Alex Keenan has a pop from long range and sees his shot sail over the HGS keeper to get the away side on the sheet. One quickly became three as Josh Allen bagged a couple as the first half came to a close.

Goals came thick and fast in the 2nd half, Max Cooper running the show from midfield feeding Archie Young whose powerful shot squeezed inside the near post and another Alex shot from distance finding the back of the net via a deflection. Ahaan Dean got the goal he deserved, stroking into the bottom corner after good work from Sammy Roe. Noah McConnell flashed a powerful header just over and then seized on a loose ball to calmly slot home. Hat trick hero Josh Allen then completed his treble from close range.

It was not all one way traffic, Freddie Hill kept on his toes in goal with a couple of saves and quick feet during a 2nd half shut out.

Another good effort from the boys who played some fluent football in parts. B+.
