It was raining goals for the Leopards thanks to a strong 2nd half performance vs Woody’s Wanderers at a soggy Oaklands Lane.
With the kick off delayed due to a couple of members of the oppo being waylaid in the wet - it was a disjointed start with the home side struggling to get into the flow. As the rain eased, so the chaps improved, Archie Young coming close with a cheeky little curler following a neat move before Ahaan Dean latched onto a slide rule Alex Keenan pass and poked into the bottom corner.
The slick pitch provided a challenge for the keepers, Noah McConnell showing secure handling under pressure as half time came round with all to play for. Despite conceding an early goal the Leopards were on the prowl for the bulk of the 2nd half and the pressure paid dividends -
SPLISH! - 2 x sharp finishes from Alex Keenan, again excellent.
SPLASH! - Noah McConnell bundles home from close range.
SPLOSH! - Freddie Hill picks up a loose ball and fires home.
Smashing team effort all round with Arthur Pitts working hard down the flanks, Marcel Lukasik ball winning in midfield, Max Cooper making vital interceptions and headed clearances and Josh “The Wall” Allen allowing nothing through at the back.
The Leopards travel to Barnet Raiders next week in good heart.
