Please come along and support our member and manager John McKenna at a local production of his latest sporting documentary film, The Edge. This is being shown at The Odyssey in St Albans on Thursday 26th September. A few words from John.

"I was a producer of the film and will be introducing the film.
We are planning on having some ex players there for a Q&A after the film too

The film is about what it takes to succeed at the very top level and how much is too much.
It has a big mental health angle and has been amazingly received so far.

It features Andrew Strauss, Kevin Pietersen, Graeme Swann, James Anderson, Sir Alastair Cook and many more.
It is narrated by Toby Jones.

The film has 2 x charity partners who will benefit from its profits. These are:
Heads Together, part of the Royal Foundation dealing specifically with Mental Health
& The Ruth Strauss Foundation, set up by England captain Andrew Strauss in memory of his wife, who passed away last year.
(As you suggested, I will speak to the cinema about getting people to wear something red, in relation to the Stars Foundation - it’s a great idea).

It should be a great night in an amazing setting.
It’s a film that anyone who loves sport will enjoy and take a lot from, I think.
