As we're all painfully aware, the weather hasn't been a great friend to football these last few months. Frozen then waterlogged pitches have decimated the fixture list, not only for us, but clubs all around the county and indeed the country.
It's not just football either. Daisy Cooper felt the need to post a video highlighting the plight of St Albans' roads with a marked increase in potholes as a result of the extraordinarily wet conditions.
We've been fortunate to have our all-weather pitch to keep our balls rolling during this period - but our access road has really suffered. Anyone dropping players off can testify to this!
With the weather (fingers crossed) improving, we have well over 20 home games scheduled and circa 400 cars expected for this weekend. Thanks to Nick - our facilities manager - some headway has been made to address some of the worst affected areas. Favours have been called in and a lot of concerted effort made to get those holes filled!
With any luck this will see us through to summer where more remedial work is planned.
Thank you all for your patience!
