U13 BOYS WILLACY SHIELD
Broxbourne vs Sandringham
U11 JUNIOR WIX CUP
Cuffley vs Bovingdon
Harvesters proudly hosted this year's finals of the historic 126 year-old Wix Cup. Named after E.N. Wix, Queen Victoria's Inspector of Schools in Hertfordshire, Luton and Huntingdonshire, boys in their final year of school played for a magnificent shield.
Following his death, his daughters Margaret and Dororthy, carried on the tradition, presenting a shield to be played for by primary school teams. Margaret subsequently became the first Lady Mayor of St Albans.
A century later our current Lady Mayor, Theresa Heritage, kindly joined us at Harvesters to present the Junior Shield.
Both games were fiercely contested and played in great spirit - the teams cheered on enthusiastically from the sidelines. Bovingdon overcame Cuffley in the Junior Cup and Broxbourne pipped Sandringham with literally the last kick of the game!
Congratulations to all players for reaching this years finals!
