Harvesters U16 South had a break between matches with the sun beating down on them. Having rehydrated they once again began well and took control of the midfield. On 18 minutes Harry Ruane crossed the ball for Lucas King to score to settle nerves and put the boys 1-0 up.
Within a minute of the restart Nathan Thornton ran up the left wing, passed to Sam Mistry who crossed for Harry Ruane to make it 2-0. On the half hour it looked like 3-0 when Joseph Boyle thought he had scored only for the referee to judge that the ball had not crossed the line. Where was goalline technology?
Ryan Mason pulled off a great save in the 45th minute with Finchley continuing to press. On 48 minutes TJ Barton put in a great cross which the keeper dropped only for Joseph Curran to pounce and make it 3-0.
Fazan Uddin still had time to hit the bar before Ryan Mason tipped a Finchley shot over the bar.
There was still time for another goal for Harvesters with good work from Nathan Thornton to win the ball deep in the Finchley half and play a pass into the path of Harry Ruane to hit it home with his left foot.
So 4-0 and six points from our two wins.
