U13 East Win 2 -1 away to Omonia

U13 East put in a fabulous performance with 10 men to overcome Omonia U13 Green 2 -1 away in Enfield.

Coming on the back of a series of losses this was doubly pleasing.

The boys stuck to their game plan perfectly. They played some great football at times but dug deep and worked their socks off the whole game.

Omonia took the lead mid way through the first half after a forward was given too much time to get a shot away making it difficult for Oscar to hold onto it. The parry dropped to an Omonia forward to tap in.

Harvesters soon equalised when Sam McKenna broke through only for the goalie to pull him back. Bobby Milner converted the resulting spot kick.

Harvesters kept pushing and shortly after the equaliser James Heppenstall broke through on the right and chipped the keeper. The ball bounced back off the post and Will Walker calmly slotted in the 2nd.

Just before the break Sam McKenna made a great block on the line to ensure Harvesters went in 2 -1 at half time.

The 2nd half went perfectly to plan.

Owen, Joe B , Bobby and Joe K were faultless in defence. Max Smith and Sam McKenna were tigerish in the middle of the park and James and Niall caused Omonia all sorts of problems in the wide areas. And even though Will was a lone striker he kept the opposition defence fully occupied.

A great 2 -1 win which the boys fully deserved.
