Great 4 - 2 home win

Harvesters U13 East put in a cracking performance to overcome Alexandra Park U13 North. Sickness and injuries left the team short but every single boy put in a great shift to earn 3 valuable points.

After only 10 minutes Cameron Wilson ran the length of the pitch and drew a foul from a defender in the box. He got up and put the penalty away with ease. Cameron continued to run the opposition defenders ragged the whole game.

After the penalty AP created a number of chances with Oscar denying them on numerous occasions. But in the end luck ran out and AP got the equaliser.

Some of the boys were adapting to new positions but they soon got into a rhythm and tightened up their game. Joe B, Joe K, Alek and Owen got much better organised in defence and slowly the team started to take control. Mahin Miah hit a fantastic dipping shot only for the ball to hit the inside of the post and bounce back into the keepers hands.

At half time the score was 1 - 1 and the boys deserved their rest.

Harvesters started to dominate after the break with Max and Sam controlling midfield and Niall putting pressure on the left hand side. But against the run of play AP went ahead from a penalty mid way through the 2nd half.

This was a critical moment, the boys could have crumbled, but they were having none of it.

Three late goals for Harvesters turned the game around completely. The equaliser came from Sam McKenna with a great header. Then Cam slotted in the 3rd with Sam hitting a forth after great team play on the right hand side.

The boys continued to battle all over the pitch to deny AP any further chances. The work Bruce has done on their fitness certainly showed as the boys maintained a high intensity right to the end whilst AP started to flag a little.

A great 4 -2 victory and all round performance that the boys should all be proud of.
