2 -1 defeat at Hadley & Wingate

Harvesters suffered a narrow defeat to Hadley & Wingate for the 2nd game in a row.

After losing 2 nil in the last game a couple of weeks ago, Harvesters came into the game looking to improve the performance, and gain some revenge.

Hadley applied lots of pressure in the first 20 minutes which the boys did well to resist. Quality was in short supply but the game was full of endeavour and energy. As Harvesters started to match the opposition physically, the game became far more even, and towards the end of the 1st half Harvesters were starting to take control.

Oscar was imperious in goal stopping a number of shots cleanly in the slippery conditions. The defence worked hard and the midfield toiled away but Harvesters created few chances of note. The boys did have the ball in the back of the net from Cameron Wilson, but it was disallowed for offside.

At half time the boys were reminded that they needed to keep their shape better in the 2nd half. They responded well and put in a much better performance.

A short while into the half and Harvesters got a corner. The ball was whipped in by Flynn and Max Smith rose with confidence to rocket a header into the roof of the net.

Unfortunately Harvesters could only hold onto the lead for about 10 minutes. An unnecessary corner was conceded, the following cross wasn't cleared, and the score was 1 - 1. Another goal followed shortly to make it 2 - 1 to the home side.

Despite a strong finish Harvesters couldn't muster another goal so the game ended with another narrow defeat.
