Harvesters U13 East went out of the League Cup in the 2nd round to Whetstone Wanderers U13 Jaguars 3 - 0.
The boys seemed fairly flat and the game was a far cry from the previous weekend. The teams appeared to be well matched but too much of the game was played in the Harvesters half putting constant pressure on the home teams goal.
Despite the pressure the boys played well in the first half. They rode their luck at times but also countered quickly creating a few chances of their own. Bobby Milner was back to his best as player and captain and constantly thwarted the Whetstone attack. Joseph Kilpatrick also had another barn-storming game .
At half time the game was all square and the boys were relatively pleased with their first half efforts.
The first goal was always going to be crucial and it came for the away team 10 minutes into the 2nd half.
After that, Harvesters really struggled to get hold of the ball and string any kind of passing movement together. As a result a second and third goal followed.
Harvesters did have a couple of late chances to get a consolation but these didn't go in and that typified the game.
