A bad day in North London saw Harvesters U13 East convincingly beaten 8 - 1 in the Challenge Cup Round 1 against 100% Soccer school. The boys were well prepared technically, but in the first 20 minutes forget the first rule of football, which is to compete.
The opposition were big and strong and East struggled to win battles all across the pitch right from the start. Only having 11 players took its toll physically and a number of goals went in near the end as the boys tired.
On the plus side the boys continued trying to play the right way throughout the game. Some better decision making could have avoided a few of the goals. But for decent parts of the 2nd half they looked the more accomplished team despite the physical disadvantage. They created a number of chances but could only notch one goal from James Heppenstall mid way through the 2nd period.
Oscar Tansley was a busy boy in goal and made some great saves throughout the game.
