An early morning kick off and the boys came flying out the traps. With plenty of possession it wasn't long before the chances started coming. The teamwork and passing were excellant today with both Proudlock and hills on the wings making fantastic runs. Paul and mehenge in midfield taking on players and running at goal. With a few wide shots and some great goal keeping the ball couldn't quite find the back of the net.
Play continued to be in our favour and still dominating, maimon and bulling were on fire, bulling really playing well and having a great game. The defence were working well, Lumley solid as ever and Taylor and Patel staying strong too.
With the opposition on an attack butcher won the ball in the middle of the park and crossed it yo hills out on the wing. Seeing Paul in space he put a perfect cross to him and Paul went on to finish 1-0 harvesters.
With good possession still in our favour we maintained good pressure. Meringue picked up the ball from deep in our own half and played it out wide to Taylor. He continued his run into the box and a wicked shot saw the keeper get finger tips to it and push it onto the crossbar. Hills was there when it came out again sticking his head on it and making it 2-0 and going in at half time the stronger team.
Second half saw more of the same continued pressure and solid teamwork. Boulter not having too much to do as his defence, with bowey now on playing well. More chance but some brilliant goalkeeping kept us from scoring.
With bulling still having a great game he made an excellant run up the wing and had a great chance of getting on the score sheet, but that keeper was there again to get a touch on it......but yet again hills was there to clear up and hit the back of the net a second time, 3-0
Tired legs may have played a part in the handball by bowey giving the opposition a penalty not much Boulter could do other than pick the ball out of the back of the net. 3-1 harvesters. But we weren't going to let them get away with a goal! Straight from kick off mehenge I picked up the ball and cancelled out tat goal 4-1
With just over 10 minutes to play Paul got his second of the match thinking we had a nice comfortable win at 5-1! But no with all the constant hard work from the boys they really were getting tired and began to loose a bit of focus. 2 goals from the Eagles left for a nail biting final few minutes, but final whistle finally went snd the boys came away with a well deserved win of 5-3
Great game boys!
