Comprehensive win for Harvesters

U12 East produced another impressive performance in the Spring Shield against AC Finchley South on a crisp morning at Oaklands.

The boys started positively from the outset pushing Finchley deep into their own half. It didn't take long for Harvesters to take the lead with Cam Wilson tapping home after the first of 2 great assists from Flynn Cairns. Flynn then added a 2nd shortly after. At 2 nil Finchley started to settle and started causing the defence some problems, but Booby Milner,Owen O'Sullivan and Alek Wegenek in particular stood up to the pressure very well.

Max Smith then slotted home the 3rd after good play from Joe Burgess who went on to assist in 3 further goals. Two more goals from Cam Wilson and Flynn Cairns quickly followed. Will Walker then scored a great goal, he had a really good game making runs down the left and right wings in both halves.

6 nil at half time was comfortable so some changes were made . Finchley came out the stronger after the break and scored a nice goal from long range.

The boys stood tall to withstand some further pressure, but then started creating lots of chances with Nail Watson in the thick if things. The 6 goal margin was reinstated through Cam Wilson. Finchley got a late 2nd goal before Cam completed a 4 goal tally to complete an 8 - 2 score line.

Whilst this was another high score line, it was particularly pleasing to see the boys competing at a such a high tempo and trying to play such expansive passing football .
