Harvesters kicked off the new year with a disappointing 2 nil defeat to league leaders Brady Maccabi White. Despite going into the game in good form, the Christmas break seemed to have disrupted Harvesters momentum.
The game was a very tight affair. The first half was finely balanced before Maccabi got the opener from a corner. The ball swung over and poor marking left the Maccabi attacker with a simple tap in. Harvesters nearly equalised when Flynn Cairns was clean through but the Maccabi keeper made a good save. This was the first in a string of good saves and solid handling from the keeper which made opportunities hard to come by for the rest of the game.
The game remained finally balanced after the break but Harvesters just didn't manage to build up enough momentum to trouble their opponents. The match swung further Maccabi's way when a speculative long range effort sailed into the net.
The match remained evenly balanced but Harvesters failed to really trouble the opposition and the game ended disappointingly with a 2 nil defeat.
