Harvesters hit 5!

Harvesters put in a fine performance to beat Enfield Rangers 5 nil in a friendly. The boys were coached on passing and working better as a team the previous Thursday night and they executed it superbly. They opened the scoring mid way through the first half. After some great defensive play from Owen O Sullivan the ball was passed up the pitch. Max Tym was clean through but had the composure to spot Niall Watson at the far post. The ball was rolled into his path and he stroked calmly into the net. A great team goal! Harvesters increased their lead as Max Tym broke again and put the ball beyond the advancing keeper. Max Smith played exceptionally well in the first half getting involved all over the pitch. It was 2 nil at half time and the boys were reminded what happened straight after the break the previous week. They took the advice and started the 2nd half in solid fashion. Shortly into the half Harvesters put the game out of reach when Niall Watson made it 3 nil, swivelling neatly to half volley past the keeper. The fourth goal came soon after when Joe Burgess went on a long range run and after the ball was stopped on the line it was finished off neatly by Flynn Cairns. Enfield's lack of substitutes started to show as they slowly tired but Harvesters kept up the high tempo and tough tackling. The final goal was a superb solo effort from Cameron Wilson. He skipped passed 2 players on the right hand side, and as the goal came into sight the keeper expected a cross, but Cam rifled it into the roof of the net before he could move.

This was a thoroughly good team performance. Harvesters were solid, the midfield worked tirelessly, and the forwards ensured Enfield never had time to play from the back.
