Harvesters came away with a 3 -3 draw against Omonia White on a misty morning in Enfield. This was a classic games of 2 halves! Harvesters found themselves down 3 - 0 by half time after a poor and dis-organised first half display. Perhaps this was explained by too much "trick or treating" the night before, or the fact that the boys had been off school all week!
After half time the game was completely different. Even at 3 nil down the boys understood that a goal could change everything. After a great burst forward Max Tym slotted neatly into the corner of the net to give the boys hope. The momentum of the game immediately changed and Omonia were on the backfoot. Flynn Cairns then cooly chipped in a second after a great piece of defending by Owen O'Sullivan and Bobby Milner.
At 3 - 2 Harvesters were in the driving seat but the game became stretched with opportunities appearing at both ends of the pitch.
Oscar Tansley was solid in goal and needed he started a number of counter-attacks with his quick thinking. With 10 minutes to go Harvesters finally got the equaliser when Max Tym picked up a ball pinging around in the box and rifled it into the roof of the net.
More chances came at both ends but the game ended 3 -3. It was probably a fair result in the end but the boys learned a good lesson in being fully prepared to start the game how you intend to finish it!!
