Wet and windy conditions + Omonia FC provided the challenge for the Leopards at their noon kick off in Southgate.
Heavy traffic resulted in a number of the team being delayed and in turn a slightly sluggish start . However, the Yellows quickly went through the gears and pulled into the fast lane - Freddie Hill battling well down the flank, Arthur Pitts looking composed in defense and Josh Allen dribbling confidently.
Momentum was building as Alex Keenan smashed a shot against the bar - Archie Young caught the rebound a peach on the volley but his effort was blocked on the line.
Now at top speed (70 mph max) Alex fired in the opening goal off the underside of the bar before turning creator, sliding a perfect square ball for Ahaan Dean to smuggle a shot under the keeper.
The wind and rain picked up at the break but it was hurricane leopards who swept in and caused 2nd half chaos ::
- MAX DAMAGE caused by Cooper’s cracking low drive into the bottom corner.
- FLOOD (of goals) warning as Ahaan finishes off a fine team move.
- STORM NOAH blowing in from the right to blast high into the net.
With Marcel Lukasik slipping and sliding in attack the chaps worked hard to the end.
Battling performance in tough conditions, the boys continue their good form. Props to the hardy Leopards supporters who braved the rain! COYL
