After a respectfully observed period of remembrance - The Leopards and Enfield Rangers played out a very entertaining Captain Hook fixture at a breezy Oaklands Lane.
It was the away side on top early, looking dangerous going forward during a helter skelter opening. However the Leopards were not in the mood to lie down this week, playing some swift counter attacking football - ROE to YOUNG to LUKASIK to ALLEN who crosses for KEEEENAN!!! back to front in a blink of an eye for a goal of the month contender. Alex had his shooting boots on again, helping himself to four 1st half goals whilst Freddie Hill whistled a first time strike past the post as the Leopards enjoyed a purple patch to go into the break on a high.
The 2nd half was more of an even affair defined by the non stop work rate of the home team, Max Cooper again setting the standard alongside Sammy Roe with Josh Allen working his socks off up front, chancing his arm with a couple of long range efforts. Arthur Pitts seemed set to notch from close range but hit an upright and Freddie, using his pace to effect all game, rounded the keeper but could only find the side-netting before Ahaan Dean weaved his magic to stroke home a fifth.
The Yellow Wall of Archie Young and Noah McConnell held firm at the back ably supported by Marcel Lukasik in nets who made a string of good saves as the play went from end to end during a breathless finale.
A very well contested game, smashing effort from the Chaps. COYL.
