West Herts Stags were the opponents for the Leopards on a chilly Sunday afternoon.
The boys continued where they left off last week, putting together some excellent passing moves but just lacking the composure and luck to apply the finish - Ahaan Dean striking a post and Freddie Hill thundering a half volley against the bar following an Arthur Pitts cross.
It was physical test for the home side, the Stags are a strong running team and kept Josh Allen and Archie Young busy at the back. Max Cooper's energy levels were again impressive down the left, showing great awareness to cover at the back with a goal line clearance.
With just the bare 7, the half time break was a welcome respite. Leopards continued to work hard, Sammy Roe making a couple of important tackles and combining well down the left hand side. Despite being pushed back for spells in the 2nd period, the chaps continued to try to play their football, Archie outstanding in his composure on the ball. They finally got their deserved reward when a close range Josh Allen shot was deflected over the line.
Like most Stag do’s the boys began to tire and need a lie down toward the end as West Herts continued to impose themselves - but this shouldn’t take away from another promising performance with plenty to be pleased with. COYL
