Alexandra Park North v Harvesters Leopards U9s

The Leopards tangled with Alexandra Park North in a classic game of two halves in Sunday morning’s early kick off.

It was a wave a yellow for much of the 1st half as the visitors used the wide pitch to their advantage, Sammy Roe causing damage down the left flank as Noah McConnell cashed in with a brace, the second following up a Freddie Hill rebound. Max Cooper added another for the Leopards as the Leopards took control, Josh Allen and Marcel Lukasik putting up a defensive wall to frustrate Ally Park.

If the opening 25mins was easy like Sunday morning the 2nd period was anything but as the home side tore into the Leopards putting them on the back foot with some purposeful direct play and territorial pressure as Harvesters struggled to clear their lines. As the half wore on the chaps began to weather the storm and reassert themselves, Archie Young composed at the back and Freddie Hill stretching Park with his pace. Alex Keenan was again impressive and ventured forward to fire in a low drive to relieve the pressure. More chances followed, Arthur Pitts seeing a shot cleared off the line, before Sammy Roe scooped home as the Leopards finished strongly.

Enjoyable game played in a good spirit with the Leopards very good for spells in the first half and showing the required fight to come back into the game toward the end. COYL
