Harvesters Leopards U9s v AC Finchley West U9s

The morning's rain had ceased and clouds parted to provide perfect conditions as the Leopards entertained AC Finchley in week 3 of the WFL U9s Captain Hook division.

Marcel Lukasik made his first appearance of the season and started strongly with a couple of crunching tackles early on as the two teams jostled for control. Sammy Roe kept the Finchley defence busy, working hard up front, combining well with Ahaan Dean and Arthur Pitts down the flanks. It was Arthur who opened the scoring for the home side midway through the half, squeezing home from a tight angle. The midfield battle was being hotly contested, Josh Allen and Noah McConnell working hard throughout.

After a generally cagey and even 1st half - the 2nd period saw the game explode into life as the Leopards moved through the gears, putting together a string of swift counter attacks resulting in a deluge of goals. The outstanding Archie Young was influential, passing the ball with pace and accuracy to launch many an attack, often releasing Max Cooper down the right who created a number of chances as the chaps kept up the energy. Alex Keenan was the spearhead, helping himself to an awesome foursome of goals showing power and clinical finishing, providing plenty of sunshine on a rainy day for the home supporters. The busy showing continued with Freddie Hill opening his account for the season with a left foot / right foot double.

Finchley struck back with a couple of nice goals of their own toward the end of the game as the Leopards began to tire. This didn't dampen the spirits after what was a good performance, lots of effort and pleasing passages of team play resulting in goals. Well played boys - COYL.
