Whetstone Wanderers were the visitors for the Leopards opening home game of the season with the Harvesters faithful basking in the early autumn sun as proceedings got underway.
Sammy Roe was back in the team and impressed during the early exchanges, working hard in defence and looking to link up with Ahaan Dean down the left flank. Ahaan worked a number of good opportunities but was unable to apply the finish as the chaps pushed for a goal.
At the other end, Arthur Pitts was between the poles and had his hands warmed with a long range drive, pushing it over the bar as the Jaguars applied some pressure. The Leopards began to take control as the half progressed, Archie Young calm on the ball, Freddie Hill pressurizing, Alex Keenan using possesion well and impressing in central midfield whilst Max Cooper came close with a cheeky lob after a great first touch.
The 2nd half saw the Leopards continue to knock on the door. JUST WIDE! - Noah McConnell latching on to a Max through ball and pulling his shot past the far post, FIZZER! - Josh Allen runs clear and fires an early strike inches wide of the left upright, INCOMING! - a flurry of corners from Arthur lack the final touch.
Despite the passing and team play not being quite as slick as the previous match, the boys worked hard to final whistle. Much to take forward to next weeks tussle with AC Finchley. COYL
