Freddie and the Screamers. Hill Strike the Highlight

A cracking Freddie Hill goal was the match highlight for the Leopards as they came up against Whetstone Wanderers Pumas under sunny skies in North London.

Harvesters thought they were seeing double as the Puma's talented twins tore into them from the start - Noah McConnell earning his corn with a combination of stout defense and strong runs down the left hand side relieving the pressure from the visitors goal. Freddie Hill tried valiantly to keep Whetstone at bay via a combination of luck and bravery between the sticks. The boys hung in there, battling hard and looking to move the ball forward when they had the chance, Ahaan Dean coming close. Archie Young was again impressive in a wide right role firing in a strong drive which the keeper could only parry into "Sniffer" Arthur Pitts path, who turned home from close range.

Despite the half time oranges and pep talk, the Leopards began slowly in the 2nd period relying on Noah to make a few stunning saves. To their credit they battled hard, Josh Allen strong in the challenge, as they attempted to snuff out the double trouble posed by the home team. The closing stages saw Freddie Hill use his pace to create several chances, smashing one effort against the bar and one into the side netting - but he would not be denied, latching onto a good through ball from Arthur Pitts and crashing his shot into the roof of the net before celebrating in style.

An excellent effort against a talented opponent.
