A split decision on the judges scorecards
Harvesters U18 North were in league action at home to Northwood Gold.
Having lost to them twice already this season the boys were determined to get something from the game. Northwood had the better of the early stages and Harvesters struggled to put enough passes together in the first 20 minutes.
Harvesters began to get into the game and had chances including a cheeky back heel from TJ Barton that hit the bar.
On 35 minutes Northwood broke down the right and hit a bullet of a shot in off the underside of the crossbar to make it 1-0.
Two minutes later it was 2-0 when a corner wasn’t cleared. The boys continued to press and on 41 minutes were awarded a penalty when Ben Spencer was tripped. Ben got up and dispatched the penalty beyond the diving keeper to make it 2-1 at half time.
The second half started well and Harvesters looked good with the wind behind them. On 65 minutes Chris Rowe played a perfect pass into Reece Sandiford Cam to score and equalise at 2-2.
Shortly after there was a dispute between the players which resulted in two punches being thrown at Connor Blight who go his credit did not retaliate. The Northwood player saw red and the players calmed down and continued to play football.
No more goals were scored and a good point was secured.
