U18 North lose 4-2 to Northwood
By Richard Thornton
Harvesters U18 North were in league action at home to Northwood Gold. Both teams started well and had spells of possession creating chances but unable to score.
A corner from Ben Spencer was met firmly by the head of Zak Bensissi only for it to rebound off the crossbar.
On 39 minutes a free kick to Northwood beat everyone to put them 1-0 up. Harvesters reacted immediately and were level within a minute when Chris Rowe floated in a free kick for Zak Bensissi to lay back to Ben Spencer to hit home.
The second half didn’t start well as a run up the left wing followed by a cross was poked in to put Northwood 2-1 up. This spurred the boys on and chance after chance came and went with the Northwood keeper forced to make a number of saves.
Harvesters continued to press but on 72 minutes a breakaway put Northwood 3-1 up. 4 minutes later a penalty made it 4-1.
With 3 minutes to go Ben Spencer scored his second with a bullet of a shot from 25 yards out. There was still time for a few more chances but the match finished 4-2.
