U16 South beat Hadley Wood 5-0
It is going down to the wire.
Harvesters U16 South were in league action away at Hadley Wood & Wingate Foxes in their penultimate league match of the season. Starting in the late evening sunshine the boys were passing the ball around nicely on the astro pitch.
With space for the full backs to venture into the opposition half it was on 26 minutes when after a slick one two with Louis Di Carlo, Shaheel Coorjee took the ball up the right wing and hit the ball goalbound ending in the back of the net after a couple of deflections.
Seven minutes later Sam Mistry put in a great pass to Lucas King who found Harry Ruane to score and make it 2-0. Further chances came in the first half including the woodwork being hit.
Within a minute of the start of the second half it was 3-0 when Nathan Thornton burst into the penalty area and passed to Sam Mistry waiting in the six yard area and with a spin he beat the keeper.
The boys continued to press and hit the woodwork on a number of occasions. There was what looked like a certain penalty when Lucas King had his legs taken away but the referee wasn’t interested. With 5 floodlights now on in the 57th minute TJ Barton ran down the right wing and put in the perfect cross for Joseph Curran to control and make it 4-0.
There was still time for one more and on 67 minutes Louis Di Carlo played a delicate lob into the path of Joseph Curran who beat the keeper to finish the match 5-0.
