A slow start was punished as Hadley Rangers steamed into a 3-0 lead. Josh missed a penalty to reduce the deficit - but atoned shortly afterwards when claiming his third goal in three games. Charley also scored for the third game in succession to make it 3-2. However, a last kick of the first half made it 4-2 to the hosts.
After that set-back, the second half fightback struggled to begin, and although Imad finished coolly to make it 5-3 at the time, the South were trying to force a result on the back of too much early damage. The final score certainly flattered Hadley - but they were the better side on the day and deserved the points.
A positive for the South are that they never gave up and matched Hadley for work-rate at all times. The team will learn from this defeat and would thrive on the opportunity to meet the same opposition under different conditions.
