We are looking to increase the usage of our Clubhouse at Harvesters and have been lucky enough to have one of our members enquire about a class for our players.
Wendy Walsh is a parent member but is also an elite runner and pilates instructor. She is therefore very well placed to understand the mechanics of the human body.
We are looking to trial a pre-training session on Wednesday 27 February from 06:30pm to 07:00pm in the Clubhouse. The session would be designed to help the players get mobile pre training which they would be able to use pre match.
By incorporating drills with the emphasis on mobility and efficient body position rather than stretching this will show the players how to effectively warm up/cool down. Wendy will give them active stretching they can use to warm up and similar stretches that they can then hold for longer post training and match.
This should all help with avoiding injury and will build awareness on how their bodies should function and the ability anticipate injury/overuse .
There will be a charge of £5 for this session and bookings will be made directly through Wendy. Please contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org places must be booked as there will be a limited on space.
